Coach Education
A major part of my role as Hockey Operations Manager is to develop our club and representative coaches. Throughout the year we hold coaching workshops open to all coaches, players and parents. These workshops give us an opportunity to discuss various coaching topics, update skills, learn more about the game and much more.
Accreditation courses are also available for all coaches. Details of courses can be found on the Hockey Australia website under the HockeyEd tab. The coach accreditation levels are:
- Foundation Lead - Level 1 (course held in Gympie annually)
- Development Lead - Level 2
- Advanced Lead - Level 3
Player Development
Another part of my role involves assisting all of our representative teams with preparing for the various tournaments throughout the year. This may involve planning, fitness, selection, assisting training sessions and providing feedback to players and coaches.
The Bent Street Vet Academy is a great way for our junior players to develop their game further with specialised coaching from our Regional Coaching Director. The academy is open to all junior players from 9 -18 years of age.
